Class allocation is out! No, actually it has been out for some time now. ^^ Out of curiosity (or perhaps plain stalker-ish behaviour) I've copied out the class allocations for all 32 of us!

2011 is drawing to a close! Hopefully 2012 will be a meaningful new year for all of us, and that we can integrate into our new classes smoothly. =)

heyy squadmates!
handover is over.. and that's like drawing a comma in our 4 Years of NP. It's nearing a full stop now. The past 4 years, we had shed sweat, tears and of course, laugh together! All the memories will (i hope) be kept nearest to our hearts. We will always be a squad! ;D

Hahas let's do well for the coming ROD okay! Make it a perfect ending for our NP life! ^__^

Hi squadmates! Here are the pictures taken by myself on 17June, for the unit bbq... =)

A brief post on unit bbq... On my part, I was going to meet Shou Fong at Lakeside, then before she arrived, I saw Xing Yao. The three of us went up the platform, and when the train stopped before us, we saw Ken! Amazing thing was that when we stopped at Chinese Garden, we saw Yang Sheng board... 5 squadmates on a single carriage!

When we got to Clementi, we realised that Yun Hui was on the same train.

Squadmates who gathered at Clementi (Pei Hao was latest!): Amanda, Junianti, Kristine, Yun Hui, Shou Fong, Ken, Yang Sheng, Xing Yao, Freda... Did I miss out anyone? ^^

We took a bus to West Coast park, where Chloe and Michele picked us up and where Ying Ying and Seow Hwee arrived later. When we arrived, the fire wasn't up yet, so most of us went back to Area 1 to the pyramid area to play, while Ken stayed behind to help the sec2s...

There are some pictures we took while on the pyramid (if it is blur, please blame my handphone or my shaky hands. I dunno why but my fingers were shaking while I was taking the pics. T_T) and subsequently while we were wandering around in the other play areas. For the pics of the sand, try to spot the word sHotshots! as done by Shou Fong. =)

Later we returned to the bbq pit... Food included garlic bread, chicken nuggets, chicken wings (many of which cooked by Ken himself), marshmellow (I think Xing Yao had a big portion in helping to eat ^^), satay and otah... such like. Soft drinks as provided by the sec2s. ^^ But as the night wore on, the sec2s seemed to retreat to one pit for themselves, and then sec 3s (only 5) and Hotshots shared one pit. (Credits to Ken, Seow Hwee, Yang Sheng, Pei Hao, Xing Yao mainly for the cooking)

Around 9 plus (I think) we left for the area 1 playground again, so we see some pics of us on the pyramid again. ^^

At around 10, we retreated to Mac, and we part ways henceforth.

Just realized now that Amanda had already posted! =3 Thanks Amanda! ♥ But anyway, I shall continue with my recount! =) I apologise beforehand for boring squadmates to death. ^^

Day 3 began horribly for me because apart from ITC , I never tried to stay awake the entire night. Even during ITC'11 we got some snippets of sleep… The consequence of which was that when we went for breakfast, I think I felt like dying. Mind buzzing kinda feeling. After finishing a MacValue Breakfast, I was on the verge of falling asleep when I laid my head on the table. ._.

We went back to the room to go catch some sleep before going to wild wild wet, while Xing Yao went to join his class for the last portion of 4G chalet. Shou Fong and Ruth tried to wake squadmates up afterwards, and the reluctance of squadmates to wake up was… impressive. They had to use coaxing, forcing, tugging of blankets, pillows and limbs to make people open their eyes and pack their stuff. One of the more impressive attempts was Shou Fong and Ruth pulling Yang Sheng off the pullout bed, and him clinging to the mattress and the bed frame to resist. -_- Seow Hwee and Kristine were going on about how 休息是为了走更远的路 or something which made me totally frustrated for Shou Fong and Ruth. Sorry squadmates for rubbing my foul temper on everyone. =_= Pei Hao and Yang Sheng were on the receiving end of pillows being smashed at them (their reaction was faster though) and Kristine and Seow Hwee having their blankets or pillows snatched away.

We had ample complementary tickets, so Kristine, Ruth, Michele, Seow Hwee, Shou Fong, Yang Sheng went. Xing Yao (who went on Monday) Pei Hao, Chloe and I stayed behind, sleep, slack, listen to music, play on the laptop and eat instant noodles (Xing Yao) etc. Later when Pei Hao woke up, the two guys played Plants vs Zombies on Pei Hao's laptop.

Squadmates returned sometime around 3 and went to take turns showering. By the time they were ready to leave for lunch/dinner, everyone was starving… We ate at Just Acia again, but Xing Yao and Pei Hao didn't join us for that. Following the lunch/dinner, Ruth and Kristine left. If I don't remember wrongly we went to pop in at the arcade a while, then we decided to catch a 11.15pm show of Pirates of the Caribbean. Later we headed back to the chalet- on the way there we went over to 4C class chalet to get mahjong tiles from Ken.

Mahjong table? No need, don't have. Amazing actually- squadmates used the bedframe for the pullout beds to form a solid surface to play mahjong. The players were Seow Hwee, Yang Sheng, Michele and Chloe. Later, they played bridge while Freda, Shou Fong and I went to watch Tong Yi. We skipped dinner, for no one felt hungry. The next meal was popcorn and drinks in the cinema. ^^ The show wasn't bad, personally I quite enjoyed it. ^^

Day 4, we had popcorn for breakfast. Amanda, who had left on Tuesday night, came back to join us before we had a buffet lunch at Seoul Garden. Then as Amanda said in her post… I felt so full. ._. my shirt smelt of food afterwards, which may have accounted for why Amanda seemed to smell chicken even as we went upstairs for kbox. For kbox, we got one room this time- 8 of us: Freda, Seow Hwee, Chloe, Yang Sheng, Amanda, Michele, Shou Fong and I. This room was much bigger, and somehow we got the room from 2 to 7. Something like because there was no one else booking… The mood was a bit not there this round, probably because we were on a full stomach and feeling really sleepy, such like. Anyway, less high than Tuesday's session. But still enjoyable luh, like what Amanda said, being with squadmates. ^^

We went back to the chalet after dropping by the arcade again (after which Shou Fong and Seow Hwee went home), then watched half an hour worth of Tong Yi. Following that Freda, Amanda and I went to buy packets of instant noodles for dinner/breakfast. We watched 幸福万岁like Amanda said… It was extremely trying on my temper. -_- At the beginning I was like "WTH", and was really interested to know what ratings it was- at the later part, it was just the script -_-. I just checked it up- NC16. -_- *heaves a mega sigh* Anyway, there were parts in dialect that (because I didn't find the subtitles option) we didn't know what was going on. Amanda and Michele made some comments, and surprise surprise, that really happened in the later parts of the movie.

We were going to proceed with Untraceable, but then Amanda, Chloe and Yang Sheng had went to sleep, leaving only Michele, Freda and I watching, with pathetic subtitles. -_- had some people with hearing deficiency attempted to get the storyline based on the subtitles… *shakes head*

Next morning, we got up at 9.30, had instant noodles for breakfast and checked out. "Lunch"-ed at Long John Silver at Tiong Bahru, before we went our own ways.

Squadmates who went for squad chalet, hope it was a good experience. On my part, the turnout was seriously better than I thought, so thank you very much, all of you. =) Spending so much time with squadmates was really enjoyable.

Squad chalet.

Even before it started, I lost hope. The people who had replied me about BBQ and meeting at Pasir Ris was so sadly few that I didn't even want to think who would be there on the first day. The gloom induced by myself got so bad that I had given up organizing anything, BBQ included, which Seow Hwee and Pei Hao settled in the end.

I guess I should have had faith.

I was surprised when it was not only Amanda waiting, but Keng Seng as well. And later, Jing Hua came over. Surprise- if I had to guess who'd turn up on the first day, I wouldn't have wagered on them. Just that they never seemed to be in the middle of things, and of all who would turn up to make this a success… ^^

Then came the awkwardness, because I honestly, honestly didn't know what to talk to them about. I doubt we ever had a real conversation before. But we lived, we lived, and survived reasonably even in the absence of Pei Hao.

It wasn't tense as we played cards, and the two of them are extremely amiable. It was really interesting watching Keng Seng and Jing Hua play. I don't know how to describe it, but it was extremely lighthearted, and… cute? ^^ And I learnt something- we have been calling Jing Hua's name wrongly for ages. 0_0 I didn't know that his Jing is the same as mine!! 0_0 And yet I guess it is like what he says- since everyone calls him that, then like that lor. As I was going to call him, my first instinct was to read his name as jing3 again. -_-

Eventually Pei Hao came, right after we were betting when he'd turn up. I was saying something like 6.45, Keng Seng guessed 10, because Pei Hao kept saying "coming" when he wasn't here yet. ^^ In the end Jing Hua's bet was the closest.

Chloe and Michele turned up afterwards, and we left for dinner in the middle of Tong Yi. ._. Had dinner at Just Acia, and we realized that Pei Hao had brought only $20 dollars to spend at the chalet. -_- He kept going for more servings of ice cream throughout dinner. Seow Hwee joined us thereafter.

Back in the chalet, we first watched 精武风云 (whatever the title was) with the DVD player provided, then we proceeded to play cards (me, Seow Hwee, Keng Seng, Jing Hua) or use Pei Hao's laptop to create SIMS characters (Amanda, Chloe and Michele). Eventually Chloe joined our side in watching us play cards when she couldn't stand watching Amanda and Michele manipulate her character. =P

We stopped at about 3.30am, the latest I have stayed up for reasons apart from homework and reading. The guys tried to be nice and share one tiny pullout bed and even retreated to the toilet when we insisted they wake up (Seow Hwee even threatened to pour water on them if they didn't ^^). Because we had 5 girls, and I guess they felt that it would be extremely cramped if we tried to squeeze into the two single beds. (Uh, for the benefit of those who didn't turn up, we had 4 single beds. Sort of. Two of which were pullouts, and much less comfy.) Anyway, got them to move eventually. =P Keng Seng took one side, Jing Hua and Pei Hao slept on the other. Girls managed to fit, surprisingly. We slept horizontal. ^^

Seow Hwee woke us up at 9, and we took turns washing up. It was about 10 when we eventually went out to get brunch at food court, then we took lots of 自拍 group shots. About 13? ^^ We saw 4G outside the food court- somehow we seem to have an affinity of some sort. They were at Just Acia the previous evening as well- somehow we just keep bumping into them.

Following that we went to book a room for kbox then headed to the arcade, where we were joined by Yang Sheng, Shou Fong Madeleine Freda, and later Kristine Jie Min Ruth Yun Hui Ying Ying. No surprises there, but Jing Hua and Keng Seng didn't join us for kbox, and Kristine they all went back to arcade(?) and chalet after that…

For kbox, we split rooms as follows: Freda, Shou Fong, Madeleine, Pei Hao and I in one, Yang Sheng, Chloe, Amanda, Seow Hwee and Michele in the other. Our room was the damn cold one, but appears we lived. Shou Fong and Madeleine paired up against Pei Hao and Freda in some couple songs, competing with the other pair about who sounded better. Quite amusing, but I shall say nothing about the singing. =D

When we got back, the bbq stuff arrived, and then the guys worked to get the charcoal burning in due time. Not the first time we are thankful that our squad guys are effective people who are willing to help, but thanks squadmates. ^^

At some point, Shou Fong and I retreated into the chalet to watch Tong Yi like the unwavering fans that we are. == We were joined by Madeleine, Junianti and Freda… Sorry to squadmates outside? ^_^

Apart from those mentioned earlier, Xing Yao had come over from his class chalet to help cook, and so did Ken. From the window/sliding door, I think I saw Kenneth come at some point as well… We ended up with quite a lot of food left and too much fruit punch, but nothing went to waste eventually. ^^

We watched Insidious on Pei Hao's laptop at night. The people left would be Pei Hao, Yang Sheng, Xing Yao (who was complaining about his sunburn from his class wild wild wet) Chloe, Kristine, Ruth, Ying Ying, Seow Hwee, Freda, Shou Fong, Michele, myself… I didn't miss out anyone right? It was sort of scary I guess, the movie, at some parts, but I guess the thing about horror movies is that you don't focus on where the camera leads you to focus? ^^ Kristine screamed at least twice, which I think made us even more scared than we were of the scene. ^^

Then to remove that mood, we watched 功夫灌篮 that Shou Fong brought, then played UNO, which was like endless torture. We were at it for more than an hour. Xing Yao and Kristine were asleep by the time we began, but Kristine awoke from all our noise. Then most eventually dropped to sleep, but Yang Sheng, Chloe, Pei Hao, Seow Hwee, Shou Fong, Freda and I stayed up for quite some time playing cards. (I mean, there wasn't much space to sleep even if we tried) Pei Hao and Freda went to sleep sometime later, but the rest of us continued til morning, catching at most 20 min of dozing before the day started.

Oh and Pei Hao sleeptalked- sort of. ^^ Damn joke.

I will continue with Day 3 tomorrow? Other squadmates post also can? Alternative perspective. ^^

Hey squadmates! Here to post about our dear squad chalet!(;
Yeap I had lots of fun these five days, not sure if you guys did.
Firstly, here's a big thank you to Jing Yee! Cuz if it wasn't for her (and her dad)'s generosity, we would have had to spend even more money than we did LOL.
Secondly, to be honest, I was really surprised at the turn-out at the bbq on the second night. I mean, if I'm not wrong, more than 75% of our squad turned up, which is really awesome. Even the guys who had their own class chalets came over to help out with the starting of the fire and the barbequeing of the food. Oh and btw, the food was delicious. Thanks Seow Hwee for helping to order the food! I loved the satays and the yakitoris^^
For those of you who missed certain parts of the chalet, here's a small recap on the major highlights! Though I may miss out some stuff cuz I wasn't there for the third day and I have stm :(

First day: After checking into the chalet, we played cards for a few hours cuz to be honest, with only four people, there wasn't much we could do. Then more squadmates started trickling in and we headed off for dinner at Just Acia! The food there wasn't too bad, except that some squadmates got their food spicier than expected and suffered terribly LOL. We then headed back to the chalet and started on our SIMS MISSION! Haha michele and I spent like, 3-4 hours creating the characters of the people who were there on that day(most successful one being our dear COORDINATOR, who ended up with a white moustache and HOT RED BLUSHER)PLUS our MALE LEAD! And we also saw the "Gambler" side of many squadmates! We didn't manage to accomplish our mission that day, so we gave up and went to sleep at around 3plus am.

Second day: We woke up quite reluctantly at around 9 plus, and then headed off to have brunch at the Food Court. We tried 自拍-ing, but with 8 people it was kind of impossible. BUT. After numerous attempts, we got some acceptable shots! Haha which was good cuz the guys were starting to get bored. We then proceeded to book a slot at KBox for the afternoon. While waiting for time to pass, we went to the arcade! Wasted some time(not to mention money) there. More squadmates started trickling in to join us and we continued to waste more time there. Then, we crapped a little more outside KBox and finally, it was time for us to enter! Split into two rooms cuz there were just too many people, but we jumped from room to room during EXCITING MOMENTS (for example, the duet between the LYSs and the dancing of two guys to a sexy korean song which I forgot the name LOL). Afterthat, we headed back to the chalet for our squad bbq! The guys helped to start the fire, which required a few tries but nonetheless, remained strong throughout the night. Throughout the night, we cooked, ate, talked, played and just spent time tgt as a squad. It was awesome, and to me, definitely a success. Although I left after that, I heard about the "CHECK CHECK" incident, which continues to spread as quickly as fire LOL(:

Third day: Wasn't there, but learnt that you guys went to Wild Wild Wet and got yourselves burnt LOL(which is still evident on many of your faces).

Fourth day: SEOUL GARDEN! We had a competition between the two tables, to see which table could eat the most! Obviously 我们不相上下, with one table having 42 dishes and the other having 43 dishes even before dessert LOL. Then we went to KBox AGAIN! This time until seven though. But to be honest, I enjoyed the one on Tuesday more. Nonetheless, KBox-ing with squadmates is always enjoyable yeah?(: Then we had cup noodles for dinner cuz we were still full from lunch LOL. Watched 幸福万岁! Damn funny film, cuz it was quite stupid. Jing Yee's expression was also super entertaining LOL. Then I fell asleep so not too sure what happened. But apparently squadmates watched Untraceable for another ten mins before deeming it to be boring and going to bed too.

Last day: Basically nothing much happened, cuz we had to check out by 10.30am. Ate more cup noodles for breakfast, then packed up, took our last photos and then left the chalet. Travelled by mrt(where majority of us slept throughout) to Tiong and had lunch at Long John(:

Oh and I forgot to add, thanks Chloe for helping to take and upload the photos and Michele for helping to tag^^

Yeap so basically that's my recount of our first, and hopefullynot-last squad chalet. We may not have done much, but I feel that as long as we're spending time tgt, it doesn't really matter what we do. I had lots of fun throughout, and I would really like to thank all squadmates. For making time to come. For helping out. For just being there. Thanks squadmates(;
(Anw, can someone else pls post about the chalet too? Cuz my recount was quite incomplete yeah?)

Oh and anyone wants to wear squad tee to the unit bbq? Or is your squad tee still barbeque-smelling from the chalet bbq? LOL. See you guys soon!(;

The above people are the squadmates who went for 'squad lunch' followed by KBOX at Safra today to celebrate end of term tests.

And yes, everyone sang. ^^

First the 4 of us (Chloe, Michele, Amanda and I) went to Safra to book a room at 3pm, then we waited for Seow Hwee and Sylvia to join us after their Geog test.

Then Shou Fong joined us after having her lunch with her friends, waiting with us while our food was being cooked...

We had lunch at Jack's Place, a relatively filling student's meal comprising of a main course (which 5 of us ordered fries & breaded fish while I ordered chicken baked rice), coke/sprite and a mini chocolate ice-cream! In total $8... Sort of affordable I guess, considering the setting.

At around 3pm, we went up to kBox.

During the 3 hours of singing, we sang songs including those we used for ITC and ROD dances, K-Pop songs (undertaken mainly by Shou Fong and Chloe), three of Justin Bieber's songs (if I'm not wrong, all of which we didn't have the strength to undertake completely) and many chinese songs, ending finally at 6pm with the song 超喜欢你 to end off on a high note. ^^

Main things that we come to concensus about would be that

Chloe can consider transferring out of RV and join a professional singing school or something- she can sing really nicely--!!

Amanda can sing at a low pitch very well as well!! She took on many of the songs by guy singers really great. ^^

Yeah, so squadmates who haven't had the chance to listen, maybe next time yeah? ^^ hopefully everyone else found their own way of unwinding after our tests, and deserve our well deserved break-! See you all on Tues. (NP Day!)

Hey squadmates!
Pls remember that we're having squad lunch this Friday after the sports carnival, so pls try to clear your BUSY SCHEDULES and turn up this Friday(: Thereafter, we will probably be going to shop for squad ****(You all know what I mean, no need to publicise here for the whole world to see LOL) cuz the design that we chose the other day has limited stock. So we'll probably be going around to look for another one that is not so expensive(hopefully)and looks not too bad too^^Pls try to come yeah? So that we can choose a design that the whole squad likes and at the same time, you will know what you are spending your money on. Oops, I have no idea why this turns out weird but here goes.

Squadmates, here are some of the pictures from ITC. Not the entire collection, but some of those which are may be worth recollecting/represent what was going on have their part here.

Uh, squadmates, sorry for this sorta emo post, but I found this random post on my blog- after seeing Seow Hwee's latest post whereby she commented that "why are we most bonded when its ending?"

... Just to add some emo-ness to this blog and remind everyone of the impending sorrowful ROD...! (and make Junianti wrong about the spamming of ITC posts on this blog ^^)...

That scene brought about a sudden burst of sorrow.
Parting. Farewell.
We'll all have to go through those, don't we?

We were at Dover Mrt station after the relay at ACS(I).

Dover Mrt Station is designed in such a way that those headed to Pasir Ris and those heading to Joo Koon would be separated by the track.
There, Yang Sheng headed to one platform, and all the rest of us were on the other.
The rest of us, excluding Angela, who'd left first.
Excluding Pei Hao, who was taking a bus back.
Excluding Sylvia, who was to be fetched by her parents.
Ken, Keng Seng, Kristine, Ruth, Ying Ying, and I.

We watched Yang Sheng on the opposite platform.
As his train drew near, we waved to him.
He waved back in acknowledgement.
Then, the train obscured him.
Ruth said that it looked as if the train had hit him.

Where Yang Sheng boarded the train, there was a plastic plane, whereby we could see him still.
He walked straight in, and stood where he faced us.
We waved at him again.
Separated as we were,
Bound for different destinations, different destinies, as we were.
Yang Sheng waved back.

A brief notion entered my mind.
For us, we could see Yang Sheng standing alone.
For him, he could see us all standing together.
I wonder.
I wonder what thoughts ran across his mind as he saw us all together.
I wonder what feelings he'd feel, realising that he has to make his journey solo.

The train started gaining in speed,
pulling our squadmate further and further.
We continued waving, and he returned them, albeit with limited enthusiasm.
Our eyes followed him until we could see Yang Sheng no more.

As the train left the station,
I suddenly felt very tired.
Mentally drained.

This parting is one little parting,
we being certain we'll see our squadmate again.

What if, one day, the parting is for ever?
What if, one day, we part,
never to see the other again?

The train is akin to time.
When the time comes, we'll have to leave each other.
Everyone. Classmates, squadmates. Friends.

All of us are doomed to this fate.

Things we want to say,
things we feel,
things we wish to share,
we cannot put off to a later date.
Because there is no guarantee of the future.
The only thing life guarantees is NOW.

We have to live our lives to the fullest.
We have to give everything our very best.
We have to treasure our friends, family and contacts while we can.
For the future is an unknown,
that we cannot count on.

We must make the best use of NOW while we still are around.
Or regret, we will,
when something or someone we take for granted will be there tomorrow
Leaves.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying... let's make the best out of our next/last few months as NCOs. ^^

I think there is gonna be a spammage of posts here and there so i'll snatch my seat now first:)

Yup, i agree with what Amanda said. We really should learn to get over this thing..
We've worked, planned, perspired, sacrificed sleepless nights, been unhygienic by not bathin, lost our voices, teared, scolded, and cried. It is really all these moments which made us stronger as one, which eventually picked us all up together, which bonded us EVEN MORE together as a squad, AN EVER SO STRONG NCO SQUAD.

I still remember the times when we were about to take over the unit...
Sirs and Ma'ams, Ex-NCOs, NCOs, even Juniors - they thought we weren't up to the mark, they thought we weren't up to standard, they thought we weren't ready to take the unit, they thought we would screw the whole unit up once we take over, to the extent which gave us the impression that they looked down on us. I know, many of us wanted to do something for the unit, many of us felt indignant about this, many of us were really angry about this fact, that perhaps even the juniors looked down on us. The comments we had, the feedback we got, the scoldings we got, all these - i know, they all humiliated us, they impacted us really hard, like a knife stabbed into all of our hearts...

Bringing this sense of distrust in us from everyone, bringing with us the risky impression which others gave us, we became NCOs, we took over the unit, we became the leaders of RVNP. Honestly speaking, at first, everythings went on really shakily, things were messy, we got scolded more than once, we complained, we scolded, some of us cried, and we were demoralized. True, it was the darkest moment for many of us, as we felt the unit slowly going down, as we got the news that we got silver for UOPA... again... Not gold.. the hope we once had as cadets, as when we were just about to take over, as NCOs, all broken, all shattered.. into tears of regret, into tears of guilt..

But as time passes, as ITC nears, We saw everyone starting to rise up to the occasion, we saw everyone trying hard to get things clear, trying their best to perfect everything in the proposal. Even when it means changing things in the proposals last minute, even when it means getting ready at the last moment, we still managed to do it. We still let ITC became a sensational camp to all cadets, to all NCOs. Squadmates, if you can feel it, don't you think NCO squad has become much more mature, much more united, much more prepared to take up challenges after ITC? Cadets have been through physical training, but we as NCOs, we have successfully survived through this 3-day mental training.

Believe it or not, I think ITC made NCOs love NP more. I see it. If u realise, Si Heng actually came down to help out in the camp and he stayed for all 3 days, Ernest came down on the second day to help out in Rope Obs, Madeline stayed back to ensure that Night Trail was successful and smooth-sailing before she "retired" back to her house to rest cuz of her severe flu.. Aren't you touched by our committed squadmates who took the effort to come and help out to make OUR camp a success? Besides that, there are NCOs rushing down to support juniors when they are running on the third day, NCOs helping to clean the bunks before ITC started, NCOs training together for drill before opening ceremony, NCOs trying hard to stick to the schedule, or even simple things like NCOs coming down to the canteen to eat together as one whole squad, no longer as NCOs, but simply a squad which is united and bonded, hoping to cling to every minute and second we have together as a squad, even though it may mean less time spent together during the camp due to different responsibilities we have.

Dear squadmates, what i want to say is, People might say we were ill-prepared, people might say we injured juniors because of minor things like flags, people might think that we don't treat cadets well enough, that we are not being "welfare" enough, people might say we lack in knowledge like tying rope obs, people might doubt us, people might not think that we are good, people might think that we suck, people might think that we are going the wrong directions, BUT pardon me, let me tell these people - We might not have all these that you say we do not have, but we BELIEVE in what we do, we love our squad, we love the unit, we want to make NP rise up too. If you think we are not up to the mark, run the unit yourself and make sure you do it better than us.

And to squadmates! Do not get demoralised or dejected because of all these.. I've read all your blogs.. 我知道大家都觉得自己受了委屈..But nonetheless, as much as we are disappointed, as much as we feel that we have done our best yet get "condemned", let us brace this together and get through this. Ultimately, i'm sure all of you think that we have done really well for ITC! Things like Night Trail, Unit Recre, Rope Obs, Sentry Duty, Solo Night, Snatch Flags, Taking Squads, Taking care of casualties... Each and everyone of us did it very well! One good example will be Kenneth - remember seow hwee, foong hui, amanda and i all said that you did really well for sentry duty even though it might be the first time and ur route might not be as original.. honestly if u ask me to take sentry duty, i will juz be speechless and talk rubbish in front of the cadets. LOL. But we were all impressed by your words! IT WAS GREAT YAY! xD and other squadmates too! Night trail comm, Rope Obs Comm, Jie Min n shou fong (Unit Recre), Kenneth and Ying Ying (PT n night duties), CD head n CC head, Squad ICs, Keng Seng ( for doing a great job in flag raising and lowering), food ICs (Ruth and Yun Hui) and not forgetting our camp coordinators ( KEN AND CHLOE!) YAY! xD

I know you know that we al rock to the max. Like what Foong Hui and I always tell each other, and what we told xing yao during combined UG activity, we might not be a good cadet squad, But at the very least, we try hard to become a good NCO Squad, and i can proudly say that we have done it, we can do it and we will continue to be a good NCO squad.

Therefore squadmates, do not be sad, do not feel indignant, for all of us will be there for each other, for i'm beginning to see people finding the passion back for NP, finding the motivation to stay on in NP. Others might say it is too late, we only have a few months left, but what i want to say is, we might not have done that well for the past half a year, but we can always make full use of our time left. It does not matter how slow you go, so long as you do not stop. Let us work hard together from now on, even if it means starting all over again, we can still do it. Do not cry, do not give up... We have 3 squads under us.. and they all need our utmost guidance and support..
We managed to do it for ITC, i believe we can also continue this greatest spirit we have for the rest of the few months.

I'll always love HOTSHOTS! xD Cuz we're really hot:)

Hey squadmates, ITC'11 is finally over! I bet most of you have just woken up from a 20 hours long sleep haha.
This ITC was especially memorable, because it's the first, and also the last time we are planning it and attending it as ncos.
We went through many good and bad things this ITC.
Some things went our way, and some things didn't.
Smiles were seen, but at the same time, lots of tears were shed.
We were praised, but at the same time, we were reprimanded (and sometimes quite 冤枉-ly).
I bet many of our hearts broke during the camp.
When our squadmates got injured.
When our squadmates cried.
When we got scolded.
I shall not mention these in detail, because I know you all know what and who I mean.
But I just wanna thank everyone, because Hotshots made this camp possible.
We may have missed out some things, we may have made some mistakes.
But we tried our best, and I believe that that is the most important.
So squadmates, no matter how dejected you are, don't give up kay!!
No matter what anyone says, we just have to believe that we are the most awesome-est(:
Just like what Foong Hui said, we are definitely gonna miss camping together.
So we must treasure the last few months we have together kay?
To squadmates who got injured: 好好养病吧！

Hi squadmates, this is basically the conclusion of our "discussion" for squad tee today. Although we have not decided the colour of the tee or what type (polo/dry fit/cotton), we'll do that next act. Meanwhile, Shou Fong, Amanda, Madeleine and Michele came up with this design that is a compilation of Jie Min and Kristine's designs, sorta. The others there were fine with this, so unless there is any objection we will probably be using this. Sorry for the low quality image.

On the LHS, the front of the tee, we have either

across the front of the tee, depending on the colour of our tee, followed by "All for one, one for all". Of course, the name above Hotshots would be your own.

For RHS, the back of the tee, we will have everyone's names in one chunk. Diagonally on top of that would be the explosion that Kristine drew- please refer to the previous post. Below that, it is the design below, except that it is without the "NAME".

If you notice further, there are some kind of vines beside the names of all our squadmates. These would be a continuation from Jie Min's above design- the vines that she drew; Jie Min, is it possible for you to draw some more vines?

Hopefully we can settle the tee soon, and we'll get it asap.

Squadmates! ^^

Um, two things to post about. Firstly... Squad reunion dinner was a relative success! 17 of us turned up: Jie Min, Ruth, Ying Ying, Yun Hui, Chloe, Freda, Michele, Madeline, Yang Sheng, Ken, Pei Hao, Junianti, Foong Hui, Amanda, Seow Hwee, Shou Fong and I. Amazingly, we settled the problem of food by heading out on our own to buy our dinners respectively! (thank goodness, or we'd have starved to death >_<) So when we eventually settled down, we had a myraid of food including Mac, KFC, Mosburger, Burger King, Shilin, Sweet talk and sashimi.

Though we were supposed to gather and start heading out to find a spot by 7.25pm, we only managed to at 8--- WARNING TO SQUADMATES: do not go to KFC in the evening!! The queues took damn longgg that Pei Hao couldn't help but finish his fries and half his fillet o fish while waiting for everyone to come-! ^^ While waiting, we took some pics with Chloe's phone- of which consisted of several candid ones including one of Yang Sheng standing shorter than Foonghui, and Peihao and Ken standing shoulder to shoulder.

Instead of heading to the park, we basically sat outside JP (near bossini there) and tucked in. (Gangsterism to the max lor- we had actually a bit of worry that we would be STOMPed for sitting around but well.) We got a passerby to help us take a squad pic (sort of) before Pei Hao and Junianti left in turns, followed by Jie Min (around half past 8). While eating, Seow Hwee came up with the idea of playing Truth or Dare.

Everyone got a turn- beginning at the very beginning with Yang Sheng, Foong Hui and Chloe- the last three being Freda, Madeline and me in that order. Questions involving our squad, our level, personal preferences and even occurances at ATC/STC were brought up; Seow Hwee being the mastermind for brain juice in getting the ball rolling. Some of the more memorable Truth or Dares may have included Ken's dare: go to the rubbish bin with our combined rubbish, stuff it in and shout "Oi, go in lah!" as loudly as possible. ^^ It was also the only dare so yeah. ^^

We then broke up the "reunion dinner" at 9.30pm. (Sorry, i know this post is not very detailed, but this is just one perspective- welcome squadmates to post more on the squad dinner! ^^)

Next thing I want to post about is for the other suggestions for the squad tee. Although Kristine has already suggested some designs for the squad tee, there are also some designs that Jie Min created (the full list of designs she came up with can be found from archives, 2009 March, when we had wanted a squad jacket. It had been put on hold due to a lack of enthusiastic responses, but I think we should still consider Jie Min's designs along with Kristine's- this one in particular I think is a gigantic waste to not use)

Of course, it still depends on what colour we want our squad tee, but these designs we should probably consider alongside the most recent designs by Kristine. The style is quite different, but can we please tag our suggestions/feedback onto our tagboard please. HOTSHOTS NEED A SQUAD TEE FINAL DESIGN UP SOON. Gentle reminder that it is already Febuary.

Hi all, squad blog is kinda dead AGAIN. And though people still check the squad blog, no one seems to bother tagging. It's kinda lonely when you are the only one tagging and/or posting, so can I please ask squadmates who come to the blog to tag once in a while.

And since it has almost been a month since the previous post, I'm going to post about the Universal Studios CIP yeah? Don't mind me, it'll be quite lengthy.

I guess that it is a pity for those who didn't come, though, in a way, for it became several hours of squad bonding for the other 20 of us.

Although there were many a communication lapse (dinner was supposedly provided, yet refreshments were only made available at 9 plus; the number of students leaving directly from Sentosa was also limited; it wasn't CIP at all, just Community Resilience day- on a weekday and ending so late, no less... And why, pray tell, did some of the RVGG join us when it was so obviously an NP event? Come on, we were surrounded by NP cadets of various units lor.) But that's about all even I can complain about, and I'd like to bet that I'm the most skeptical person in Hotshots- after hearing me deluge them with complains about the dismal Heal The Earth event, I bet squadmates would agree. No...?

So we arrived at Universal Studios, after a long ride which brought us pass Malan campus. All in the bus (NCOs and RVGG in one bus, juniors on the other) turned to stare out and reminisce, apart from the squadmates who'd fell asleep. At the entrance of Universal Studios, we started off sitting in relative discipline- perhaps until excitement set in (“自 high”, Pei Hao called it) - whether it was brought about by the fact that Madeleine dropped her sweet or the fact that we were at Universal Studios I'm not sure.

[For the record: Madeleine had a sweet in her mouth while talking- then all of a sudden the sweet disappeared, and she looked around for it- which was when Amanda pointed to the ground: "Is it this one?" ^.^ ]

We started chatting, taking candid photos and a squad photo of 20: those present were Jie Min, Yun Hui, Ying Ying, Yang Sheng, Pei Hao, Amanda, Zhang Ying, Ruth, Ken, Kenneth, Seow Hwee, Sylvia, Madeline, Michele, Freda, Chloe, Pei Jia, Madeleine, Shou Fong and I.

All while waiting for the other bus of RVNP cadets who were lost somewhere at Siloso beach. We were probably the last unit to enter.

We were treated to the glory of Universal Studios at night: which was probably the lack of. Anyhow, we went into the only thing alive in the sleepy street: the theatre.

The theatre was half occupied by NP cadets, the other half by people wearing the (label?) "Guest"- we students wore "Exercise participant". Then we got to watch/listen to the musical (supposedly) "Monster Rock"- not a bad experience, though I had my fingers plugged in my ears most of the time- it was deafening. There were also a good use of special effects, I guess- with all the colourful firework-like sparks and several "explosions".

Just at the end of the "Monster Rock", we were alerted by an announcement that some bomb threat was discovered or something, that this was not part of the performance. We were then ushered out through escape routes til we were out in the street again.

If we had not been briefed that this was just an SPF demonstration, I guess the idea of terrorists bombing Universal Studios could have been more frightening.

We were then told that the bomb had been detonated by the police with a bomb blanket or something. Then we were ushered a bit again, and then there were, supposedly, gunmen firing. Since most of us were stuck at the back, we didn't see much/anything, but there were many rounds (of blanks) fired. Then the announcement came that the officers have now to locate the bullet shells, if I'm not mistaken.

At long last, we were ushered to the end of the street to listen to the minister's speech. He read his words one by one, made several errors in his addressing speech (I think: I mean, he told us that he was there for the St. James powerstation one too, but most of us students were probably not there, being underage and all. --!?), shook hands with the CEO of Universal Studios (whose name was "Tan Wee Teck" if hearing serves) and then we were invited to help ourselves at the refreshments.

So we all went into Sci-Fi City, and helped ourselves. There was a dessert table, amongst others, and waiters(?) went around handing out drinks. The cheesecakes and brownies were declared delicious, and we gathered together to eat the satay, spring rolls, etc etc. We were told to meet Ms Lim to leave Universal Studios at 9.15, but we all wanted to stay. Everyone was in cheerful moods, and not very eager to leave the buffet.

But go we must, so we joined the juniors for a unit photo in front of the theatre and had one of the squad as well. Another unit photo after we got out of Universal Studios, beside the gigantic globe- then those who would leave from there were released, Amanda as well as some other juniors. (Kenneth didn't bring his bag though he lived near Vivo-!! 0.0 He had to go back all the way to Boon Lay and back again by MRT...)

The bus we returned on was the one the juniors came in- much less pretty, much older, and didn't smell very good. But the atmosphere was hyped up, so I guess we had less to complain. All that we complained about was not being able to stay for more food, actually ._.

We passed the Malan campus once more, and Ken observed that the canteen lights were on. We began to reminisce about the times we were there ("much happier memories here than at the new campus") and fancy thoughts of returning there someday. Squad outing or something- maybe before ROD, we can return to the Malan campus- just once more. There was also interest in seeing the Malan campus NP room, which was definitely had much more essence of mystery than the current one.

About this time, Seow Hwee cried- for the fact that we would be parted soon, amongst probably the memories in Malan. Then we entertained some thoughts of joining the same CCA in year 5- or create a new one: RVNP CIs, getting the whole squad in there. ("Another one of the milestones created by Hotshots"- no elaboration here, but perhaps squadmates can remember. ^^)

To sum it up- there were discussions about who would cry during ROD (Freda said I would- and that Kenneth would. ~?!) We reached Boon Lay campus around 10.20pm I guess. Hotshots returned to NP room and got the juniors' bags out for them, and Mr Low seemed surprised that juniors weren't allowed to even peek into the room, much less enter. To be frank it was quite a hassle to carry them to and fro and finding each item's respective owner- but it was tradition, so too bad.

All in all, Universal Studios "CIP" was quite nice, allowing for squad bonding and all. Though I guess the downside is what everyone felt this morning- fatigue. Yours truly couldn't keep her eyes open in CHAMPS... damn tired. I would have liked to have begun the post or end the post with a picture taken from yesterday- but the pictures are with Ms Lim.

The likelihood of all getting in the same CCA is to me quite small, but if I could, I would. Hotshots has become a dear part of my memories in RV, and I wish that it is the same for the rest of my squadmates too.

This next half a year or so... Treasure them. Let it be memorable. Because it is 缘分 that we are one squad. Let Hotshots bond, not break during this last year of NCOship.

And finally... Shall we try to return to the Malan campus before/after ROD? ^^

Squadmates~

I guess this is the last post of 2010. I'm just here to tell Hotshots that the 4 of us (Kristine, Xing Yao, Junianti and I) have completed the UG Exhibition souvenirs today! All 199 +2 of them! 100 guys, 99 girls- I'm talking about the souvenirs that we are planning to give the juniors. There will be 199 given out- originally 200, but one female figurine was destroyed. Don't worry about it if you haven't set eyes on it, for there will be 2 coloured figurines at the NP booth on 6Jan, which will afterwards be moved to NP room. ^^

I'd also like to thank people who helped make this achievable:

First and foremost, Shou Fong- without this, we couldn't do anything at all. ^^

Thanks very much, cause, ow, it really hurts our hands to cut through cardboard for long periods (personally, I will throw something at the juniors if they just take and throw. Then again, like what Xing Yao had replied when I said that on the 29th: "What? More of this?"-refering to the human figurines);

Kristine, who went high and low with me everywhere to get the drawings photocopied;

Sylvia, Michele, Zhang Ying, Pei Jia, who helped to cut the paper figurines/make the flags;

Pei Jia, who helped to colour print the flags;

Sirs Raymeo, Wee Teck and Jonathan for contributing to the entertainment factor, ^^ by visualizing and voicing how, perhaps, in the near future, we recruit 200 cadets into the sec1 squad, where they'll be sized (a mighty great long line), how long promo will take (not to mention uniform check), etc, etc;

Jing Hua and Keng Seng, for contributing alot of their foolscaps' cardboard and contributing to general entertainment in their quiet ways;

Sec 2 and sec 3 squad ICs, for getting their squad to hand in posters (and the cadets themselves too, of course);

Junianti, who will be the one giving out the souvenirs on the 6th and contributed lots of cardboard as well.

Lastly, thank you everyone. That's because the photocopying money will be claimed from the unit fund......!

2 days have passed, and though we had 22 people at the bbq, no one posted. Hm... It suddenly occured to me that the reason why we tend to post on our blogs and not squad blog is quite simple.

Probably we ponder about how our viewpoint is insufficient and limited. 1st person POV, or limited omniscient, whatever it is... When we post about things on the squad blog, it seems as if it has to do with the squad. That explains why many posts are strictly informative now.

In such cases... Perhaps we feel better in our own comfort zone, our own blogs, whereby it is our opinion that matters, our experiences that take front stage.

But, squadmates, we are not just individuals. Only if all the individuals chip in do we have a squad.

Kay, so though I left early, I shall post. If I miss out things, you are invited to correct me.

Squad bbq, 6 Dec 2010.

Our second and probably more successful squad bbq, held at Seow Hwee's house yet again.

Preparation: On 4 Dec, around 11 in the morning, two of us went to Yew Tee to buy chicken wings, squid, juice and marshmellows at Fairprice. Pei Hao and myself. We were joined in due time by Seow Hwee, then followed her to her house where we bombarded her house and intruded into her family's hospitality (^^) to prepare the squid and chicken.

There, we were coached by Seow Hwee's mum on how to separate bits of squid, how to clean the squid, etc. That was when I finally got why the squid we eat always turned out in ringlets.

The chicken wings were cut into three- the job which took either experience or brute force mainly undertaken by our dear coordi (guess which)- and then marinated.

We left Seow Hwee's place, after being treated to nuggets and pasta by Seow Hwee's mum and unwinding in front of the TV, at about 2.30pm.

Actual day: Majority of us reached Yew Tee just after 4pm, and waited for other squadmates to turn up. Then, we all went to Fairprice to pick up other things we needed- inclusive of satay, otah, sausages, ice, thongs and fire starters.

We then made our way to Seow Hwee's house (unless I'm mistaken, about 5pm). Seow Hwee, Ken, Madeleine, Shou Fong and I went to the kitchen to prepare bee hoon and fried eggs. Unfortunately, none of us had the relevant experience, but apart from making the bee hoon stick to the wok, nothing much went wrong. At the later part, Pei Hao joined in to help as well. There were discussions about what sauces to put in, and whether you could taste the pepper more or the sauce... But in the end, the bee hoon (added with luncheon meat and fried eggs) turned out fine. Too little though.

Outside, squadmates helped to wrap the squid into the aluminium foil in the living room. At six, most squadmates went directly to the bbq pit beside the nice pool... Only to realise after at least ten minutes that there was no fire starter. ^^ It was drizzling.

As the fire was being started by the guys, we attacked the marshmellows, bee hoon (really quite insufficient) and orange juice. The guys prepared the squid and sausages.

Oh yeah, I have yet to mention who were there. If memory serves, there were 22 squadmates present:

Seow Hwee (of course), Madeleine, Shou Fong, Ken, Pei Hao, Yang Sheng, Jing Hua, Keng Seng, Xing Yao, Madeline, Michele, Freda, Chloe, Ying Ying, Yun Hui, Jie Min, Junianti, Kristine, Pei Jia, Amanda, Ruth and I. And not forgetting Seow Hwee's younger brother. ^^

By 8, the guys finally got the chicken cooked, (or partly cooked) but kudos to them, since the chicken was still rock hard ice frozen at 6. In the attempt to make them fully cooked, the chicken got kinda burnt, but I guess we can't have the best of both worlds...?

Chloe, Amanda and I tried to get some pics of the BBQ, but my pics are too blur to be satisfactory. Chloe took quite a lot of photos in my impression, and Amanda got at least a video. And it was about this time that Madeleine, Shou Fong, Pei Jia and I left. So... No idea how the otah and satay turned out, but hope everyone had a good time. =)

Special thanks to the guys, all of them, for doing the fire starting and lots of the cooking. And to Seow Hwee, for volunteering her place. More than two third attendence- I think it's a successful BBQ. Thanks, all who came, and all who contributed. Guys, hope you didn't starve yourselves while cooking for us all.

WHAT: HEAL THE EARTH 2010 is the first of its kind, green gathering for Singaporeans. It is organized with the belief that everyone should step forward and hold the responsibility of healing this earth; walking our thoughts, together we can make the difference. By coming together, we can educate and raise the awareness amongst Singaporeans on the importance of going green. This helps to promote and cultivate green habits to be practiced in our everyday life, creating a positive impact to our health and environment.

Through this event, we hope to provide a platform for Singaporeans to learn more on environmental issues and green philosophies; government agencies, local green groups, educational institutions and corporations will be there to showcase their products/services and green initiatives.

Sir Qin Hui, part of their squad, was celebrating Staff Clarine's birthday.
The number of people singing the birthday song were few, but it was nice to see that...
After two years...
They were still mentally... The EXTREMISTS.
In part, perhaps.
But at least, the bonds for some of them...

They don't seem to have gone on even one year more than their ROD year.

Personally, I'm afraid that the distance between us will increase as time passes,
and one day, we'll pass each other,
shoulders almost touching,
and saying nothing,

No acknowledgement,
no smiles,
no waves,
nothing.
Seriously, that idea is really very scary.

Will our bonds hold? Will it truly last?

Today's "revision date" at NP room wasn't a total success.
Only a handful came:
Pei Hao, Yang Sheng, Amanda, Foong Hui, Kristine, Sylvia, Michelle, Chloe, Freda and I.
Sure, it wasn't obligatory.
Yes, in the end I don't think we really increased our chances of acing Promos.
But to have but less than a third of our squad...
It's saddening.

I was thinking of suggesting squad outing, actually.
Especially seeing the pictures of Staff Ong Min that batch being posted on Facebook. On the recent squad outing.
I was thinking, since we didn't spend any time with our Sec 1 squad ICs, Sec 2 squad ICs, and our ROD-ing Sec 3 squad ICs, perhaps we could invite them to our squad outing.
Since it'd be awkward to have all 3 batches of ICs together, perhaps we can plan 3 squad outings!
Idealistic. I know.
But after seeing how many were here today (or yesterday, by now),
I think this thought can be discarded down the drain.

If we are going to have only about 10 people turn up for the squad outing,
can we still call it a squad outing?

For heavens' sake, our squad has a total strength of 32, minus-ing I-Lin and Michael.
To just have 10 people and call it a squad outing, that's pathetic.

We've never had a squad outing, have we?
We've thought about, but never actually done a squad tee, squad jacket, squad wristband, squad whatever, have we?

Last year to bond.
Can we get these things going?

People, please don't be thinking, "Let the usual people post."

I looked back at the archives of our squad blog,
and realised that we used to have multiple posts about the same act.
And now...
I dunno.
We can see for ourselves.

ROD'10 has ended, and this mean that we are NCOs already my dear squadmates! thinking back to the past few years, from the young and ignorant sec1s, we had gone through 3 batches of NCO. their advices and wise words should be make use of during our nco-ship. let's bond during nco-ship and dont let it break us okkay?

preparation for the function was done well and quite efficient today, hope that we will be like this everytime we work together, producing positive results yeah?
passing out parade was a parade specially for us, the parade that transform us into NCOs and not sec3s anymore. i must say that we did great! absolutely marvellous people :D
as for th ROD items, although we were not able to dance our awesome dance, do not think that the effort put in during the past few weeks are wasted. we bonded, laughed through and practised the dance together. what we had gained were priceless. but anyway we did perform for our 4 sqd ICs in the end didnt we ((:
overall, the event was well-organised, fun and utterly amazing. great job done peepo!! ^^
our hard work were paid off.

hi squadmates.
for those who have not learn the dance yet, please approach me if you have time. or if you want to approach your classmates it's okay too. maybe will squeeze out a time slot to mass practice (: so yeah, let's do a good job!
anyway for those who didnt know or did not went yesterday, the people who came early in the morning cleared up a part of the np room in the morning until 1300. (let's clean up together as a squad next time okkay?) and we did the ROD present. the deco part? im not exactly sure since they just go one isolated end to do their work.
i should say that yesterday was a fruitful one. and let's hope that we will work well like this during NCOship :DD

in the last post that i written, i've said that a few people would be asked to help choreograph the dance correct? the dance is halfway done now and no need (: anyway, this also means that we would have to practice the dance once it's complete hahas. anticipate it! and yeah, for people who initially disagree to the song and commented that it's too slow, i can assure you that it is dance-able. and the moves are damn chio and cool! because it's done by me duh. lol xD that's half joking anyway. (that means it's also true!) on a serious note, i hope that all of us would put in your fullest strength and determination for the dance as the dance this time round might be quite challenging for you all. and i would be more strict too as the dance moves have alot details and must be done in the correct way or it will not be nice. but i know we can do it de.!

today dance session was fabulous (no sacarsms intended) hahas.

although the guys still fool around, they learnt fast and dance, well, i should say quite okay :D and the girls are super uber fast and cute!! we've completed the whole dance too!! -cheers and appluases- next wed session will be dancing in the arranged positions. im here to blog about the meeting details this saturday.
for this saturday, you guys are going to learn the ITC dance and that this will probably be the freaking last session for you guys to master the dance. Hence, for those who didnt turn up for previous dance sessions, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE turn up on saturday. this is the last ITC as cadet so try to make it your best and most memorable one. i would like to clarify the fact that for those who have tution or any other activites on saturday, after the activity, do come to school cause i can gurantee that we would be spending many hours to learn the dance.
ok. so here are the details:
- Meet at school canteen at 11pm sharp. (this timing is change due to the need of kristine and i to coordinate and choreograph the last part of the dance before teaching you guys.)
- lunch can be consumed at the school minimart you dun have to eat lunch before hand.
- wear shorts and whatever school based tee you have.
- estimated dismissal time is 4pm provided that you can all master the dance. (note that if you manage to learn the dance fast and can dance well, you will be dismissed early)
- position for the dance would be decided base on performance at saturday. so do your best and make hotshots! proud :D

for people who turned up for the activity today, good job done! \(^_^)/even the cc comp girls who can make it came too. hahas. although we had quite alot of conflict and grumbles today, we did well duh :DD

so as for now, jiemin and i have choreographed the choruses and the first part of the song. people who learnt it today should practise the steps at home and get it memorised by the next dance session, which will most probably be on wed since jiemin and i only get to release at 2pm that day. if you all have anything to confirm before that time can also come find us kkays? erm then on wed, those who will (confirm plus chop--- dont say you not sure or not confirm!) go ITC MUST turn up. unless you have any VALID REASON. if you all haven notice, we have less then 2 weeks which = less then 3 sessions to learn the dance. so please cooperate or i dont know what will happen to you while we dance. maybe just standing elsewhere under the stage?

hey squadmates! jiemin here AGAIN. yes. due to the miserable fact of clashing with the juniors for the same song, as the seniors, i think its the most approperiate to change our song bah... hence, the second choice as discussed on wednesday is BAD ROMANCE byLadyGaga. hence, for all those who are attending ITC this year, please listen to the song and roughly get an idea of how it sounds like and this would be easier to learn the dance. time is running out so everyone please give your fullest cooperation in participating actively and also try to turn up for every possible dance session.

on the other hand, please remember that there would be a meeting to complete some ITC stuff tmr. Details are:
meet at school at 9am (as early as possible).
items to bring includes :

i know its really troublesome to come to the school to do, but remember last year? we paint until the floor at the void deck and had such a freaking hard time cleaning up? hence, the cleaning convience outweighs the human convience so ya. please come:D

anyways, what jiemin and i have decided was that we're dancing to "tik-tok". (shoufong cheer! lol) and yeah, we'll be doing the dance together with the painting of flag on saturday.

Things to take note of : Please do take your breakfast before you come.

Basically, the CIP would be us organizing games for needy children (together with SJAB). The four games that we would be organising are:
1) String maze
2) Burst those balloons
3) Snakes and ladders 3D
4) Ball in object
5) Pass on the chairs ( in case )

The classes allocated to the following games will be :

We learnt something new (although not necessarily to some) during drill session today. We were practising WOC and NCO taught us a way to shout out the command so that it sounds more alert and can also add more marks to your clarity section of the test..

Here it goes:
Every command will have 3 parts to it - Introductory, Precautionary, and Executionary. When shouting the command, u have to pause for a while after saying the first two parts to alert your squad, before shouting out the last part.
E.g.
Squad, Se-di-a! In this case,
*Squad will be the introductory
*Se-di will be the precautionary
*a will be the excutionary

--One thing to note: the executionary part will be the STRESS>. that means . u have to say the first two parts then the executionary will be the LOUDEST and MOST IMPACTFUL...

Okay. I'm posting to clarify all matters regarding the unit chalet.

Take note that the decision was made by us only because it was the possible way out.

If everyone does not pay regardless of their attendance, then we would not have a single cent to even book the chalet because about 22 of us in this squad aren't turning up for the unit chalet since most of us are having our class chalets on those days. So if we didn't implement the idea of collecting money regardless of attendance, then we'd simply have not enough capital to even carry this out.

We seriously hope you all would understand that point. It's not easy organising activities like that for the unit because all these disputes happen, especially since we haven't been in touch for a long while. We know $14 is a huge sum to pay for those who're not going and that most of you would feel unhappy, but please, try to understand because our squad will be the organiser for the chalet.

Yes, and even I myself am not going to turn up for all three days of the chalet. On the contrary, Peihao and I are leaving on the morning of the second day once everything has settled down because we're going for our class chalet. So we're not being biased when we want everyone to pay up.

You may ask, why do we not cancel the unit chalet? No doubt, as much as we want to do that, we can't. It has been an ongoing tradition for ages and it wouldn't be appropriate to cancel it.

We just seek your understanding and appeal to all of you to work with us because it really isn't easy to organise a chalet on such a large scale.

Please understand our rationale and I hope this post clarifies everything. It's fine if you have any additional queries to ask me.

Hello peeps! WOOTS~~ ATC is over!! haha.. give urself 3 cheers man!!!! We srsly owned our whole cohort.. haha.. We helped quite a lot in tent-pitching and tent-unpitching, we slept in squeezy tents acompanied by our little "CUTE" insect friends, we knew a lot of frens from other units, we kayak-ed and had a lot of fun, we overcome the land ex and pt sessions.. All these.. Doesnt it sounds great that we managed to accomplished all these difficult tasks????? haha.... So, let's work harder together and soar to greater heights, as ATC has proven our capability to ENDURE - either the PT sessions, or the Sianz and dry times we had during the camp :)

this year... hmmm... it was a rather sucessive one. ok. overall, ROD passed in an instant. well... to all those who have contributed tremendously to this success.
Thank you ken, for trying so hard to pass messages about payment and dance sessions and went to ikea to buy the photoframes. also, you never fail to listen to my preaching abut how annoyed i was with certain bitchy matters which happened when organising ROD.
Thank you junianti, for trying so hard to organise treasurey stuffs and choreograph dance despite being so busy and stressed up with SC stuffs.
Thank you kristine for helping me paint the photoframes and put the glitters on the frames. Also, you took your precious time to buy the photoframes from ikea despite the fact that you were sick.
Thank you foonghui for making an effort to choreograph the couple dance even though it was not performed.
Thank you peihao for coming to ikea to help us buy the photoframes.

ok. Now, guess all of your efforts were paid off. the time and efforts spent in the dance, were paid off during when we performed 3 minutes on the stage. Even though there were lots of bickering and complains of this and that, we made it through it in the end as a squad! this is our 2nd ROD in our life and next year, it will be an even busier and hectic ROD since we are organising.

kays .. i am trying to make this post sound not too freaking harsh.

the first dance schedule started today, for row 1 and 2. there should be 13 people present excluding jiemin, junianti and me. and guess what? only 5 (amanda, freda, seowhwee, peihao & ken) came. == '' what the hell is this luhh? we have already lessen your burden by choreographing the dance steps and all, why can't you all make an effort to come for the scheduled practice? we have nothing to say for those with valid reason. but the rest? i seriously don't know what you all are thinking. what's with the attitude you all are giving? why can't you all co-operate and in return, lessen our burden and make this dance successful? put your heart into this ROD can? there will be more scheduled practice coming up (no joking) and i seriously hope that everyone can turn up for all of them. we will stay back until quite late for sure, but who doesn't when concerning this dance? the choreographing, the practices. can you all imagine how we feel when some don't even have the intention of coming to the practice? we spent hours on this and we don't expect any thanks or gratitude from all of you. don't try to test one's patience. thankx.

There has been another re-schedule of dance lesssons after some complains and complicated reasons. i dun bother to explain since its a longlong story, but this is the FINAL plan. no more changes.

i will not state the date you need to turn up for the dance.
its simple,
when you receive an sms informing you the day before that you need to come for the dance lesson tmr, come on that day. therefore, the day whereby you come for the dance will be notified to you by sms. And make sure you turn up on that day.

if you tell me that you need to watch some favourite not-to-be-missed drama shows and need to go out with your dear dear unseparable friends, by all means, bang your head on the wall until you bleed. its just a day and it won't kill you. so stop giving stupid and ridiculous reasons.

Due to some problems that we face, the photoshoot has been postponed to the Tuesday(14/7) next week. For males, please bring your PT Kits, whereas for females, please bring both your slacks and p.e shorts as well as your NPT for some unknown reason.We are going to meet at the canteen directly after school at 3pm because some classes have lessons which ends late. Please do turn up and refer to the previous post if you want to see how important this photoshoot really is.

Also, though the price is a little towards the extreme side, we have to pay $8 for the ROD food.Please don't ask me if abalone or shark's fin will be present,because I have no idea. But we've no choice I guess, perhaps its the tradition for us to pay $8. Not to forget, $4 has to be collected from everyone by Tuesday for the ROD gifts. Compared to last year, it is definitely cheaper, so there's no need to complain.

Last but not least, you all will be further notified about the dance lessons in which our gracious choreographers would be teaching you the dance for ROD. Please do co-operate with them please.

Dear squadmates,
Due to the upcoming Retirement-Of-Duty of the current batch of NCOs which is rumoured to be on the 7^th of August, our squad's welfare department has realised the need for us to complete our presents that would be dedicated to the NCOs as soon as possible. Because of the tight schedule I know most of us have, it has been decided that all of us are to stay back after school on friday(10/7) for a phototaking session with our squad I/Cs in our NPT which would be included in our gift to the NCOs. If we receive the co-operation that we greatly need, the session would probably last less than 5 minutes. Though you may find it impractical to bring your NPTs, we do hope that you grace us by bringing it for it's an annual event. The venue of the photoshoot has yet to be decided, but it will be in due course. All of you would be further notified as this Friday draws nearer. Please understand that this is an extremely important squad gathering and we appeal that all of you try your best to be present for this gathering.

For some, even though u didnt come for it, we still feel the HOTSHOTS spirit in all of you!! haha... may sound a little bit cliche but i really mean it... :D

but, i hope you arent the one who is coming at 5.30pm cause... read on...

Attention people, we need people to help us carry the things we purchase. Lets see, if you are going to the outing, kindly please meet at JE MRT at 2.20pm. if you live at tiongbahru or other inconvinient place, read for futher info.

Plan out:

--> Foonghui, Peihao, Yangsheng, Junianti, Ken and Jiemin. Meet at JE MRT at 2pm sharp and go to Peihao's house to collect the food at there.
-->Bring the food to JE MRT while the rest of the people who are going will meet us at JE MRT at 2.20pm.We will pass the food to the people who are meeting at JE MRT at 2.20pm and Ken and you guys will go to BBQ venue straight away for preparations.
**However, if JE MRT is'nt convinient from your place, you could meet Foonghui, Peihao, Jiemin and someothers who are going to Kembagan at 3pm
--> some of us are to collect the online food ordered at kembagan. these people will be at kembagan mrt station at 3pm. We need at least 8 people to go to Kembagan cause there is plenty of food ordered:D For those who have not pay the $10 or still have not fully paid off the $10, please do make arrangement to hand in the money to Foonghui yourself. hihi squadmates. i have an announcement that there will be no more welfare survey #4 since decisions of some matters have been made before hand.

ROD presents
This year, we are so kiasu as to completing the ROD presents instead of last year, where we chiong till 9pm plus in the night before the ROD for the presents. YES. thats all last year. Rest assure as ROD presents have been planned and started already. currently, we are looking for 4-8 kind and compassionate souls with nice and neat handwritings. shall not elaborate further. yes, the money for ROD presents for everyone to chip in is already planned. it should be 4dollars. well, so treasurers, start cracking. please and thank you:D compare to last year, this year's presents are both hand-made and buy as all of you wanted as shown in the survey. therefore, please hand in 4dollars for the materials. the excess money not spent on the presents will go into the squad fund. thank you very much.

So, get your 4dollars ready.

BBQ
believe it or not, bbq unit outing will require only the sec 3 and us to pay while the the ncos and others gets to go for free. not sure why, and i shall not complain or rattle about this further, but it shows that everyone of us needs to pay more for the BBQ simply because they are not paying. therefore, please do not be alarm or shock when you get to know how much each of us needs to pay. thats why, our squad BBQ outing will be cancelled. we encourage the whole squad to turn up for the BBQ as you wouldnt want to waste your own money to pay for nothing. so just attend the BBQ outing and grab as many bite of the food as you want. You deserve it, because you pay the most. just be a typical Singaporean that day. HAHA. the date of BBQ is still not confirm yet. will make further post about BBQ.

welfare survey #3

hihi guys. it'sbeen a looooooong looooooooong time since the survey was officially announced open. well well, im back with the results of survey #3 and there are some key points i would lyk to summarise at the end of the post.

as u can c, since more than half of the squad wanted a shirt or nothing, the squad jacket project will be on hold since not much people truly desire for a squad jacket. next, ROD presents is currently incharged by ken and me and if u have any great ideas on what to handmade and buy, do feel free to consult either of us. ROD dance will be incharged by foonghui (ps. dun feel sad) we are looking for kind souls to help out with her. im sure we wouldnt want to get another dance done not by ourself but other people. seriously, there is no sense of accomplishment when doing so. for ROD presents, i will be cracking my brains to think of something. some of u wrote that "why squad committee nia?" yes, i sorry for my mistake and i would be asking for kind souls who display leadership qualities to take part in organising this ROD for perfection. HORRAY! there will be a re-election of squad positionary since more than 5 people hoped so. hereby, everyone agreed that some people plan and others cooperate to work with the plan, so i do really hope full cooperativeness in making this time ROD a success. soso, welfare survey #4 will be issued on the coming act and i do hope everyone manage to complete it quickly so it will be easier to carry out matters. bye bye:D thank you very much.
